Print Screen??

Assalamualaikum n hello to everybody....

Today is my third class for PBEY 3104…Ermmm…Do you wonder why I put the title as “print screen??”? Hehehe…Actually, today I have learnt a new thing whereby I have learnt what is the usage of print screen on the keyboard...Before this, I doesn’t know about its function.Pn. Foziah had ask us to search for the MP3 , Michael Jackson last song, and then download it, and all the processes involved should be put in the power point..Frankly, before this, I never download any MP3 from internet, so this will be the first one… So, this is also a new knowledge for me…

Actually, there are lots of things that I have learnt this sem n it seems lots more to be learn..N I’m looking forward for it!…Learning is like we open a door, then we will found another 2 doors. When we open one of it, we will find another 4 doors and it continued……It means that ,the more we learn, we will be realize that there’s lots more things that we don’t know and we need to learn…..N that’s what we called as “LEARNING”!

Furthermore, for this week Pn.Foziah asks us to present about the topic “Working with Young Language Learners” that she had assign to us last week. For my group, we have assigned the subtopic about “Children’s ability to grasp meaning”. This subtopic tells us about the ability of children to make sense of what others said through intonation, gestures, facial expression, actions and circumstances although they might not know the meaning of individual words that we produced. Thus, I think this knowledge is very important as a future teacher since I should bear in mind that the children try to make meaning through my gestures, intonation, demonstration, actions and facial expression. So, I need to make sure that I make full use of it to help their learning and make sure that its parallel to what I’m saying verbally…Non-verbal communication is sometimes speak louder than verbal whereby children (or even adult) grasp more meaning through it…I remember about my nephew where he is juz 1 year old. But, when my mother shows the expression of angry, he started to cry, which means he seems to understand that my mother angry with him-even he is juz one year old! In the classroom, the young learners might have a limited vocabulary in the target language but the teacher must know how to manipulate the non-verbal communication in order to express our meaning across our teaching….

In my opinion, topic 1 is very important since it give me the knowledge about the instinct, skills and characteristics of young learners...These include children’s ability to grasp meaning, creative use of limited language resources, their capacity for indirect learning, instinct for play and fun, the role of imagination in their live and also instinct for interaction and play. Thus, I should apply this knowledge in my teaching where I should consider about learners’ nature as children. For example, I should plan my lesson to be interesting, for example, by involved some games as children love to play. Through games, children will learn in the best way through indirect learning (or what we can called as subconscious learning) which will inject fun but at the same time its meaningful and purposeful for their learning….Our understanding about children is importance since children and we as adult are different , and thus, we should spot the differences…

Ermmm…I think dis enough for now….K, See u 4 d next entry…. bye bye =)
